### Update on DNSSEC algorithm and digest type support
|
Verisign, the registry of**.com**and**.net**(among others), has updated their supported DNSSEC algorithms and digest types.
For**.com and .net**, these changes were already implemented on**December 12, 2024**.
For**.cc, .name, .xn--tckwe, .xn--mk1bu44c, .xn--t60b56a, and .xn--9dbq2a**, these changes are scheduled to go live on**December 19, 2024**.
You can find a full overview of what is changing in the newsfeed in our[control panel](http://cp.openprovider.eu/signin). If you manage DNSSEC for your domains, please make sure you use the supported algorithms and digest types for any new or updated domains.

### On February 21, we celebrated International Mother Language Day, a day created by UNESCO and the United Nations to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism.
Linguistic diversity has become an important topic in the domain industry with the introduction of internationalized domain names (IDNs). Over 50% of the Internet is in English - a number that does not reflect the distribution of (native) languages around the world. IDNs allow for the “translation” of domain names into different languages and scripts, expanding linguistic diversity online so companies can target more people in their native language.
