Email Forwarding When you want to receive emails sent to another email address, you can choose between setting up email forwarding or an alias.   Forward vs Alias: What’s the Difference? Email Forwarding: This feature redirects emails from one mailbox to any other email address, even outside your domain. For instance, emails sent to contact@example.com can be forwarded to example@gmail.com. Email Alias: An alias allows you to use multiple alternative email addresses that deliver messages to the same mailbox within the same domain. For example, emails sent to contact@example.com, admin@example.com, and shop@example.com will all be delivered to the mailbox for yourname@example.com. How to Set Up Email Forwarding? To set up email forwarding, follow these steps: Log in to your webmail account at https://mail.op-email.eu/SOGo/  Once logged in successfully, navigate to Preferences → Email → Forward. Check the Forward incoming messages box. Enter the email addresses to which you want the messages forwarded. If needed, enable the Always forward option and check Keep a copy to retain a copy of the emails in your account. Save the changes. Important: A valid DKIM record is mandatory for email forwarding on domains using our email service. If DKIM is missing, receiving mail providers, especially Gmail may reject forwarded messages with errors such as “5.7.1 This message does not meet our delivery requirements.” The DKIM record is automatically provided when purchasing a mailbox, or it can be retrieved via RCP → Email Accounts → Domains → DNS (under Actions for the domain). After adding or updating the DKIM record, please allow time for DNS propagation. If emails are still not delivered to the inbox, we recommend checking the recipient’s spam folder. Email Solution: Frequently Asked Questions This article addresses the most common questions regarding our business email solution. For quick navigation, questions are grouped by topic. Account Management   Why can’t I add a domain to the email solution? You may see the error “Invalid owner handle!” when adding a domain. - If the domain is registered with Openprovider, the handle you use when adding the domain must match the domain’s registrant handle. If they don’t match, the error appears. - If the domain is with another provider, this rule does not apply. You can use any handle under your account.   “An unknown error has occurred” appears when creating an email account. Why? This error happens because no domain has been added yet. At least one domain must be added before you can create an email with the domain. Storage and Limits   How much storage is included per email account? Are there any restrictions? Each email account includes 15GB of storage by default, which can be increased if needed. - Additional storage is available in 5GB increments for $0.25 per month, based on your requirements. - You can create multiple separate email accounts, each with 15GB storage (and independent upgrades). Each account is billed separately.   Can the mailbox capacity be increased beyond 15GB? Example: If you have the following mailboxes: - info@mywebsite.com - help@mywebsite.com - hr@yourwebsite.com  Each can send 300 emails per day, no hourly restriction. You can check this KB Article → Email Forwarding Additional Support If your question is not answered here or if you need further assistance, please contact our support team at support@openprovider.com  Emails going to spam/junk folder - How to adjust your spam filter settings If legitimate emails from external senders are being delivered to your spam or junk folder, this article explains how the spam filter works and how you can adjust your personal settings to prevent this. Why does this happen? Our mail platform automatically scores every incoming email based on a number of factors. If an email scores above a certain threshold it will be moved to your junk folder. Occasionally, legitimate emails from trusted senders may score slightly higher than expected due to shared sending infrastructure or email content, and end up in your junk folder unintentionally. How to fix it You have two options: Option 1 - Whitelist a specific sender (recommended) Log in to https://mail.op-email.eu with your email address and password Click the Spam filter tab In the Whitelist section, enter the sender's email address or domain (e.g. sender@example.com or *@example.com for an entire domain) Click Add item Whitelisted senders will never be classified as spam. Option 2 - Adjust your spam filter thresholds Log in to https://mail.op-email.eu with your email address and password Click the Spam filter tab Drag the first slider (green/yellow boundary) to the right - we recommend setting it to around 9 Drag the second slider (yellow/red boundary) to the right - we recommend setting it to around 14 Click Save changes Tip: Using both options together gives the best result. What do the score zones mean? Colour Score Action 🟢 Green Below first threshold Delivered to inbox 🟡 Yellow Between thresholds Tagged and moved to junk folder 🔴 Red Above upper threshold Rejected by the server Still having issues?
