Successful domain registration via [RCP ](https://cp.openprovider.eu/web/action/index#/domain/register)or [XML API](https://doc.openprovider.eu/API_Module_Domain_createDomainRequest) or [REST API](https://docs.openprovider.com/doc/domain.swagger#operation/CreateDomain) requires:

- two or more nameservers or a nameserver group
- registrant [e-mail address verification](https://openprovider.help/books/domains/page/registrant-email-verification-icann-contact-validation) applies

The owner contact must have the following [additional data](https://doc.openprovider.eu/API_Format_Extensions_Additional_Data_Customer) specified. If you are using REST API, please use [CreateCustomer](https://docs.openprovider.com/doc/reseller-customer.swagger#operation/CreateCustomer) (to create a new handle) or [UpdateCustomer](https://docs.openprovider.com/doc/reseller-customer.swagger#operation/UpdateCustomer) (to update an existing handle) request to specify **extension\_additional\_data**.

- Full first name and surname is required.
- nexusCategory: 
    - **C11** - A natural person who is a United States citizen.
    - **C12** - A natural person who is a permanent resident of the United States of America or any of its possessions or territories. A U.S. Organization incorporated within one of the fifty (50) U.S. States, the District of Columbia, or any of the U.S. Possessions or territories or organized or otherwise constituted under the laws of a state of the United States of America, the District of Columbia or any of its possessions or territories or a U.S. Federal, state, or local government entity or a political subdivision thereof.
    - **C21** - U.S. Organization incorporated within one of the 50 states or a U.S. Territory An entity or organization that has a bona fide presence in the United States of America or any of its possessions or territories.
    - **C31** - Regularly engages in lawful activities (sales of goods or services or other business, commercial or non-commercial, including not-for-profit relations in the United States).
    - **C32** - Entity has an office or other facility in the US.
- applicantPurpose: 
    - **P1** - Business use for profit
    - **P2** - Non-profit business, club, association, religious organization, etc
    - **P3** - Personal use
    - **P4** - Education purposes
    - **P5** - Government purposes

If the above data is not complete or valid the registry will revoke the domain.

- authorisation code
- two or more nameservers or a nameserver group

During the transfer period which can take 6 days, the current provider or the owner can reject to the transfer.  
  
The registration period after a successful transfer will [extend with 1 year](https://openprovider.help/books/domains/page/expiration-date-after-successful-domain-transfer), unless the transfer is ordered within the domain's auto-renew grace period at the previous registrar.

If as part of the update the domain owner’s e-mail address changes, we’re obliged to start a [contact verification process](https://openprovider.help/books/domains/page/registrant-email-verification-icann-contact-validation) if this new e-mail address was not verified before.

### Delete

**Explicit delete**

- Requested via RCP or or [XML API](https://doc.openprovider.eu/API_Module_Domain_deleteDomainRequest) or [REST API](https://docs.openprovider.com/doc/domain.swagger#operation/DeleteDomain)

- will directly result in quarantine (redemption period) (**no** soft quarantine applies)

**Note**: If a .us domain is explicitly deleted within the first 5 days of its initial registration, the registry immediately drops the domain from the Registry database and makes it available for registration. In such cases, the redemption/quarantine lifecycle mentioned above does not apply, and restoration will not be possible.

  
**Expiration** In case the domain expires (not renewed in time);

- will not be deleted directly at the registry
- will lead to [*soft quarantine,*](https://openprovider.help/books/domains/page/soft-quarantine) followed by regular quarantine
