# .ro

Successful domain registration via [RCP ](https://cp.openprovider.eu/web/action/index#/domain/register)or [XML API](https://doc.openprovider.eu/API_Module_Domain_createDomainRequest) or [REST API](https://docs.openprovider.com/doc/domain.swagger#operation/CreateDomain) requires:

- The registrant must have the following details filled in: 
    - **For private individual (company field is NOT filled in)**
        - Registrants outside Romania are required to provide only one identification value - either the Passport number or social security number (tax / fiscal number), but not both; otherwise, an error will be triggered.
        - Romanian private individuals must provide their Personal Numerical Code (Cod Numeric Personal, CNP) instead of a passport number.
    - **For companies (company field is filled in)**
        - Company registration number and VAT number

- two or more nameservers or a nameserver group

<span>Successful domain transfer via </span><span>[RCP](https://cp.openprovider.eu/dashboard/transfer-new) or [XML API](https://doc.openprovider.eu/API_Module_Domain_transferDomainRequest) or [REST API](https://docs.openprovider.com/doc/domain.swagger#operation/TransferDomain) requires:</span>

- authorisation code
- <span>two or more nameservers or a nameserver group</span>
- The current registrant can log in to the [.ro registry website](https://rotld.ro/domadmin/)<span>, visit the menu </span>*.ro Domains &gt; On-line administration* <span>and request the transfer code. See the screenshots below (under the section </span>*Trade*<span>) for details.</span>

### Additional notes on a .ro transfer

The registrant will **not change** during the transfer process. This can only be requested after the transfer is done successfully, via requesting a Trade. See the information how to request a trade in the section "Update".

### Owner change (trade)

<span>Successful domain trade </span><span>requires:</span>

- <span>"Trade authorization key". This code can be requested from the </span>[registry website](https://rotld.ro/domadmin/)<span> by the current registrant; visit the menu </span>*.ro* <span><span id="bkmrk-domains-%3E-on-line-ad"><span>Domains &gt; On-Line Administration, </span></span> <span id="bkmrk-and-request-the-auth"><span>and request the authorization key for the domain trade.</span></span>  
    </span>

### Other update

<span>Successful domain update via </span><span>RCP or [XML API](https://doc.openprovider.eu/API_Module_Domain_modifyDomainRequest) or [REST API](https://docs.openprovider.com/doc/domain.swagger#operation/UpdateDomain) requires:</span>

- A contact (except for registrant) or nameserver update can be performed by updating the handle of the domain.
- This change is processed realtime.

### Delete

- <span id="bkmrk-in-order-to-delete-a"><span>In order to delete a .RO domain, you must disable the auto-renewal. The domain will expire on the expiration date and the deletion is performed by the registry after 90 days from the expiration date (recommended) </span></span>
- <span id="bkmrk-if-you-want-the-doma"><span>If you want the domain deleted explicitly, a deletion document needs to be filled in. Please refer to the </span>[<span>instructions on the ROTLD website</span>](https://rotld.ro/delete-ro-domain/)<span>. </span></span>

### Restore / reactivate

- This is a manual procedure and you can request the restoration of a .ro domain by sending an email to <support@openprovider.com>.
