Common errors when submitting a transfer request

Possible errors :

ERROR: Cannot add duplicate domain (domain already exists in your account)

If you started a transfer (or registration) request for a domain in the past, you can not add another request for the same domain name until you have removed the old request.

In that case, you can find the old request in your control panel under:
- Domain management > Request queue transfers and trades (in case of a previous transfer attempt) or
Domain management > Request queue new registrations (in case of a previous registration attempt)

There you can cancel the old request or re-request it again using the previous submitted data (handles, nameservers and authorization code)

ERROR: "Authorization code is invalid" OR "Invalid authorization information"

Cause: the registry is not accepting the transfer due to an invalid transfer code. Some transfer codes are only valid for a limited period,  the code could be reset in the meantime by the registry or you are using an internal transfer code, when you need to use an external code or vise versa.

ERROR: The domain is too young

Cause: after a transfer or a new registration, a domain is locked by the registry during 60 days. During those 60 days, the domain cannot be transferred to another registrar. The only option is to wait until the domain is "old" enough to be transferred. You can find the registration date of the domain in the whois.
