<div id="bkmrk-registrationaverage-"><details><summary>Registration</summary>

Average registration period is 24-48 hrs in case if all requirements were complied but could take longer in case of some data clarification.

Successful domain registration via [RCP ](https://cp.openprovider.eu/web/action/index#/domain/register)or [XML API](https://doc.openprovider.eu/API_Module_Domain_createDomainRequest) or [REST API](https://docs.openprovider.com/doc/domain.swagger#operation/CreateDomain) requires:

- enabled [2FA](https://openprovider.help/books/quick-start/page/can-not-log-in-the-control-panel#h_01EHBRPT4STSYK9G5XFM7MFQ5Q) for reseller account
- [eligibility](https://www.register.bank/eligibility/) acceptance
- two or more nameservers or a nameserver group
- registrant [e-mail address verification](https://openprovider.help/books/domains/page/registrant-email-verification-icann-contact-validation) applies

**NB:** In case of successful registration, domain will resolve only if DNS delegation requirements are met

**Successful domain DNS delegation requires:**

- At least 2 nameservers in .bank zone
- Domain must be secured with DNSSEC
- Domain must be secured with SSL certificate
- Full security requirements on the [registry's website](https://www.register.bank/securityrequirements/)

Note:

When registering a **.BANK** domain, you are not required to provide nameservers or DNSSEC information while registering a domain.
You can complete the domain registration without these details. After the registration is successful, you can then:

- Set up your own **private .BANK nameservers**, and
- Add the required **DNSSEC records**.

These steps are necessary to make your .BANK domain active and resolvable.

</details><details><summary>Transfer</summary>

Successful domain transfer via [RCP](https://cp.openprovider.eu/dashboard/transfer-new) or [XML API](https://doc.openprovider.eu/API_Module_Domain_transferDomainRequest) or [REST API](https://docs.openprovider.com/doc/domain.swagger#operation/TransferDomain) requires:

- authorisation code
- two or more nameservers or a nameserver group
- registrant [e-mail address verification](https://openprovider.help/books/domains/page/registrant-email-verification-icann-contact-validation) applies

During the transfer period which can take 6 days, the current provider or the owner can reject to the transfer.

The registration period after a successful transfer will [extend with 1 year](https://openprovider.help/books/domains/page/expiration-date-after-successful-domain-transfer), unless the transfer is ordered within the domain's auto-renew grace period at the previous registrar.

**Problems transferring your domain?**
Please take a look at this [extended article](https://openprovider.help/books/domains/page/common-errors-when-submitting-a-transfer-request) for possible solutions.

### Additional notes on a .bank transfer

- As long as the registrant (company name, contact name and e-mail address) do not change during the transfer, no re-verification of the registrant is required.
- If any of those data does change, the registry will start a new verification process, similar to that of a new domain name or a trade (owner change).

### Owner change (trade)

- registrant [e-mail address verification](https://openprovider.help/books/domains/page/registrant-email-verification-icann-contact-validation) applies

- Does Openprovider provide local presence services? **no**

- The domain name must match the registrant's trademark, trade name or service mark.
- Strict eligibility requirements apply. Summarised, the registrant must be a bank-related entity that is charted and supervised by a government regulatory authority. This eligibility validation is performed before initial registration and each next year. Full information can be found in the registry's eligibility policy.
- Ineligible domains may still be accepted by the registry in some cases, but those domains will not resolve. Please refer to the eligibility policies for full information.
- DNSSEC is required
- .bank name servers (eg:ns1.yourdomain.bank) for new registrations are only necessary if the client wanted to immediately activate their domain.
- If the user does not have NS Records configured in .bank zone, they can submit their request without NS Records.
- If you resell .bank domains to your customers, two-factor authentication is required.
- Domain fees for requests that could not be validated will be refunded only partially.
- SSL certificate is required. The registry has added the complete .bank zone to the [HSTS preload list](https://openprovider.help/books/ssl-certificates/page/what-are-hsts-and-the-hsts-preload-list) to enforce this requirement.
